He explained that answer sheets are being checked with the help of BUET and the Computer Science Department of Dhaka University.

“Many answer scripts need to be evaluated. We are working carefully. If everything goes as planned, we hope to publish the result tomorrow after noon,” he said on Saturday afternoon.

How the Merit Score Is Prepared

The final merit score is calculated by combining academic results and admission test scores.

Here is how the calculation works:

    • SSC GPA × 8 = 40 marks
    • HSC GPA × 12 = 60 marks

These 100 marks are added to the score from the written exam.

Candidates who are appearing for the exam for the second time, or who were admitted earlier, will receive small mark deductions. This is done according to DGHS rules.

Seat Distribution for Medical and Dental Colleges

For the 2025–26 academic session, there are 13,051 seats in total.

According to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), a total of 4,048 government and private schools are taking part in this year’s admission. The online system ensures that all schools follow the same rules and that the selection happens fairly for everyone.

DSHE has also confirmed that after the results are published, school admission committees must hold meetings to complete the next steps. No student can be admitted before the committee finishes the procedure.
